For large file transfers we use DropBox.com –Dropbox allows for Effortless file synchronization and easy file sharing  through a simple to use website.  Dropbox is a free service that lets you share your photos, docs, and artwork anywhere and share them easily with us. Acceptable file types for artwork are: .ai, .eps, .pdf, .jpg, .png, .tif. For more information on these files types see below.

ILLUSTRATOR

Adobe Illustrator

The Default file format for Illustrator, a popular vector based program.  This format is preferred when the design is clean & simple.  This format can be re-scaled without a loss of quality.  Photos and Fonts can  be embedded in this format.

PHOTOSHOP

Adobe Photoshop Document

Default file format for Adobe Photoshop, a popular raster based program widely used for design and photo editing.  This format is preferred when the design is complex with many layers and effects.  Fonts can  be embedded in this format.

PEEDF

Portable Document Format

Self-contained document which preserves vector images as well as fonts or graphics required for the design. Fonts must either be attached separately if the information requires editing.  Alternatively all text can be collapsed to uneditable outlines (vector objects) that can only be resized.  Transparent images in this format such as cropped photos must be sent separately as well.

EPSS

Encapsulated PostScript

Widely used vector format which can be opened in most digital art programs.  Usually all elements in this file are vector which means the design can be resized without a loss of quality.  In this format fonts are collapsed to uneditible vector objects so if any editing of text is required, font files will need to be attached separately.

JPEG

Joint Photographic Experts Group

Sometimes displayed as .jpeg – this raster based image format is best for displaying photographic images.  For this file type to be useful for print the image must be high resolution – 300 dpi and no smaller than the size required for print.  Images can be scaled down in size, however enlargements will result in a loss of quality causing blurring and jagged edges.

PNGEE

Portable Network Graphics

Raster image format best for displaying images with transparencies.  Just like jpegs, in order for PNG file types to be useful for print the image must be high resolution – 300 dpi and no smaller than the size required for print.  Images can be scaled down in size, however enlargements will result in a loss of quality causing blurring and jagged edges.

TIFF

Tagged Image File Format

Raster image format widely used for high resolution photos.   Because TIFF file types are raster based to be useful for print the image must be high resolution – 300 dpi and no smaller than the size required for print.  Images can be scaled down in size, however enlargements will result in a loss of quality causing blurring and jagged edges.
